Firelight by Sophie Jordan
Firelight by Sophie Jordan

Today I finished Firelight (brennender Kuss) by Sophie Jordan. I read this in the German version, although I prefer reading English, but I borrowed this from my cousin and she only the the German one. Not sure if the fact that I read it in German made the writing less enjoyable or if it's just written like that, but I did have a few problems with the writing in general.

The plot. All in all it was pretty cool idea, dragons yaas! I wished it would have focused a little more on the draki aspect and the pack and not so much the romance, which was basically the most important thing in the book.

Well the romance... Yeah I did like the Characters Jacinda and Will, and they did make an interesting couple hunter and draki you know, but there were a few thing I didn't like.

Jacinda told herself multiple times to stay away from Will because he was dangerous. She said is pretty often and failed everytime. BUt she'd tell to herself again and again and be like "this time i will REALLY do it!" but she doesn't. She's so weak around Will, I just could not enjoy it.

And from Will's side...we had the typical YA line in this book "you're different than the others" or "you're not like other girls" that kinda stuff you know. Suddenly he hated everyone but her and his life revolves only around her, and the same goes for Jacinda. Will is the only thing stopping her draki from dying and her form running away it was all a little too much.

Also I didn't really like Tamra, couldn't completely understand her anger toward Jacinda, because let's be honest Jacinda is a really sweet girl and never wanted to harm Tamra in any way, but Tamra says Jacinda it's all your fault and stuff she just acts like Jacinda is doing this on purpose although we (and tamra probably too) know that she doesn't.

Yeah I liked Jacinda mostly expect for the things I said about Will and how she treats Cassian. We don't really know Cassian but she's (sorry) a real BITCH toward him. He loves her (at least I think he does) and she is icecold toward him. I liked Cassian (oops).

SOOOOO in conclusion, I liked the book (wow I said mosty negative things in this review, thre were good things too really!) and I would recommend it. For me it was like a 3.5 out of 5 stars, liked it, didn't love it, want to continue on with this series though.
